Hi there!
Let's talk about the presence of God.
Remember the story of Moses in the Bible? Remember when he came down from Mount Sinai and how the Israelites didn't want to look at his face? Exodus 34:29 "When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD." When I read that verse last week, I decided to find out on Google images of how he may have looked. It struck me, and brought a profound teaching about how spending time in God's presence can be so rejuvenating.
Moses' face was radiant from the glory of God. Being alone with God transforms us because His presence changes us inside and out! Wow! But guess what? Today we have so many little idols that make us not spend time with God. We have so many people bogged down by the challenges of life and are trying to fit in the latest blogs on Instagram and Facebook. WhatsApp and Twitter, just to name a few have become our sore idols that the only time (if ever), that we'll pick our Bibles is on a lazy Sunday morning when we're still dragging our feet to the bathroom to go and worship! Our Maker? How dreadful? If you love someone you'll definitely would like to spend ALOT of time with them. But how about our time with Jesus?
If you're in the dry place today, come into His manifest presence. Change your wilderness experience into a worship experience.
Jesus also had a regular and disciplined time to be alone with God. At times, Jesus would withdraw and have the intimate time with His Father. Quiet time with God was intentional for Jesus and it must also be intentional for us.
Before you allow anything to clutter your mind, before you surrender to the hectic pace of the day, find the resolve to put God first in your schedule (this is also for me.). Let God be the number 1 in your life.
One commentator says it like, "Communion with God is so sweet, that the chill of the morning is forgotten, and the luxury of the bed is despised. The morning is the time for dew and Fresh Manna".
Remember when the manna came down to the Israelites in the wilderness every morning. It was all covered with dew. Manna is God's heavenly food and it needs to be collected early or then it will all dissolve! We don't want that... Let's seek God early and catch all that He has for us everyday. Don't wait until the sun evaporates the dew and spoils the manna.
Seek Him early, and have communion with your maker!
God bless You!
