Hi Everyone!!!!!!
I have missed being here but am really glad that I am back!
I trust and believe that God has been keeping you all well and you are still steadfast in faith!
Are you?
Today I'll be sharing about something that I came across yesterday as I was on meditation and the in the Study of the Word of God.
My scripture reference is in the book of Psalms 71:18 where the Word of God says, "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come."
This was David making this prayer to God. He was praying and believing God that He would leave a legacy to his generation.
This is where the baton comes in. I loved the Sydney Olympic games back in year 2000. I especially loved and anticipated to watch the Women and Men 200m and 400m races. Cathy Freeman of Australia was my go to girl. I also loved Marion Jones (Oops) and the American Tyson Gay etc. The relay was something all together!
Folks, there's something about the relay race. Where 4 of you representing your country and you're all against another batch of 4 athletes representing their countries. Each person in the relay squad has got to use the same momentum as the others. Otherwise you face defeat.
Its actually the same with a generation. Every generation has the responsibility of passing the baton to the next generation. It doesn't matter who in the family takes up that first but heck! You have got to keep it going and run as swift as the one who was before you.
Whether you realize it or not, you are a “Guardian of the Flame” of faith. You are called to run your race, keep faith ablaze, and pass the baton of faith to the next generation. Proverbs 13:22 says, “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” That certainly applies to financial blessings left to your biological grandchildren, but it also applies to a spiritual legacy that we leave to every younger member of the Body of Christ.
What, spiritually speaking, are we leaving to our children’s children? The heritage of faith that we leave to another generation, we want them to pick up and use. We need to make absolutely sure that when we’ve graduated to heaven, they are continuing in that quest. We need to leave a legacy of unwavering, uncompromising faith in God.
My loving Dad was promoted to glory in April 3 2021. A dark day in my life.
But as a first born and a daughter , I pledged and made a promise to my dad, that I would not let him down and I would withhold the family name even after I get married.
This is the best way to honor the legacy and pass the baton to the next generation.
As you live and go about your daily activities, do you think about what it is you will leave your children and grandchildren with? Not only monetary items but character, faith and life in Christ!
Grab some popcorns and make the decision today as guided by the Lord.
May the Lord bless you!
Winnie.💜
